On September 11th, 2004, Phillies catcher Todd Pratt homered off New York Mets pitcher Steve Trachsel in the second inning of a 13 inning 11-9 Phillies win. The HR was the 187th of the season for the Phillies, breaking a 27-year team record. A September call-up by the name of Ryan Howard hit his first career home run later in the same game.  The Phillies finished 2004 with 215 homers. The Phils broke the team record again with 216 in 2006, and then again in 2009 with 224.
