Eagles QB Donovan McNabb was sacked an NFL-record 12 times in a 16-3 loss to the New York Giants on September 30th, 2007.

On September 30th, 1996 Eagles Rhett Hall picked up a Dallas Cowboy fumble and ran 32 yards for the only TD of his career.

On September 29th, 2006 in a 14-2 win over the Florida Marlins, Phillies slugger Pat Burrell homered twice for the Phillies. The first homer off Marlins pitcher Brian Moehler in the 3rd inning was the Phillies 215th home run of the season tying the team record set in 2004. Burrell’s 5th inning homer off Marlins pitcher Yusmeiro Petit was Burrell’s 29th of the season, and the Phillies 216th, setting a new team record (Phils hit 224 in 2009 – current team record).

On September 29th, 2002, vs. the Houston Texans at Veterans Stadium, Eagles Brian Dawkins recorded a sack, recovered a fumble, had an interception, and on a fake punt play had a 58-yard TD reception on a toss from Brian Mitchell. No other NFL player in the history of the game has accomplished this feat.

On September 28th, 2003, vs Atlanta Braves, Phillies 2B Chase Utley recorded the last-ever out at Veterans Stadium, hitting into a double play to end the game.

On September 28th, 2003 Phillies LF Pat Burrell had the last base hit at Veterans Stadium. Burrell’s bottom of the 9th single was followed by Chase Utley hitting into a double play ending the Veterans Stadium chapter of Phillies history.

On September 27th, 1981 Eagles Greg Brown had a 7-yard fumble recovery for a TD in a 36-13 win over the Washington Redskins. 

On September 27th, 2015, Eagles Darren Sproles had an 89-yard punt return for a TD vs New York Jets. It’s the 2nd longest in team history (Damaris Johnson 98yds).

On September 27th, 2009, Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins hit his 21st homer of the season off Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Dave Bush, in a 6-5 Phillies win.  The lead-off homer was the 217th  home run of the season for the Phillies, breaking their 2006 team-record of 216.  Second baseman Miguel Cairo hit a 4th inning homer on the last day of the season, a 7-6 win over the Florida Marlins (10/4/2009) giving the Phillies their current team-record of 224 home runs in a season.  It was the only HR Miguel Cairo ever hit for the Phils.

On September 25th, 2005 Eagles kicker David Akers tore a hamstring on the opening kickoff vs Oakland Raiders at the Linc. TE Mike Bartrum handled kickoff duties for the remainder of the game, but Akers came out with just seconds remaining in a 20-20 tie and kicked the game winning FG (23 yds).

#25 Eagles Tommy McDonald

Tommy McDonald – Eagles/WR (1957-63) Tommy McDonald was a Flanker for the Eagles in the pre-Super Bowl era. He was a member of the 1960 NFL Championship team.  McDonald played seven seasons for the Birds, and though he’s ranked 32nd for the Eagles all-time in games played by a receiver, he’s 2nd all-time in receiving TDs with 66.  On October 4th, 1959 vs. New York Giants, Tommy scored four touchdowns (tied for team record).  On December 10th, 1961 vs. New York Giants, McDonald had 237 receiving yards (Eagles team record).  His 5,499 receiving yards ranks 6th best in team history. During his time with the Eagles, McDonald went to five Pro Bowls, was 1st Team All Pro twice, 2nd Team All Pro twice, led NFL in receiving yards in 1961, and twice led the league in receiving TDs.  He was voted to the 75th Anniversary Team, entered the Eagles Hall of Fame in 1988, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.

On September 24th, 1950, Eagles Russ Craft tied an NFL record with 4 interceptions vs Chicago Cardinals.

On September 24th, 2006, Eagles DT Mike Patterson recovered a San Francisco 49ers fumble at the two-yard line and ran 98 yards for a touchdown. It’s the longest fumble recovery in team history.

On September 24th, 2017, Eagles kicker Jake Elliott kicked a game-winning 61-yard field goal vs New York Giants. It was the longest NFL field goal ever kicked in Philadelphia, the longest in Eagles team history, and the longest ever by an NFL rookie.

#17 Eagles Harold Carmichael

Harold Carmichael – Eagles/WR (1971-83) Harold Carmichael, at 6’8” was the tallest Wide Receiver in NFL history. Carmichael was a four-time Pro Bowler (1973, 1978-80), and in 1973 led the NFL in receptions (67), receiving yards (1,116), receiving yards per game (79.7), and was 4th in receiving TDs (9).  Carmichael holds the Eagles team career record for pass receptions (589), receiving yards (8.978), TDs (79), consecutive games played (162).   In 1980 Carmichael made a catch in his 127th consecutive game, an NFL Record at the time. Carmichael has played the third-most games in team history. Carmichael was voted to the NFL 1970’s All-Decade Team. He was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame in 1987
