Curt Schilling did it in back-to-back seasons racking up a team-record 319 Kos in 1997 and followed that up with a team-3rd best 300 in 1998. Hall of Famer Steve Carlton had a team-2nd best 310 in 1972.

Did you know… The Phillies have been to the World Series 7 times in 135 years. Three of those appearances came within a 14-year period.   33 years till 1st, 35 years till the next, 30 years till next which began 3 in 14 years, then a 15-year wait before 2 in a row for the first time in team history.

Did you know… On October 6th, 1923, Boston Braves infielder Ernie Padgett turned an unassisted triple play against the Phillies in the 4th inning of the last game of the 1923 season. It was the 1st triple play ever in the National league, and 4th in modern day MLB history. The Philly-born Padgett, snared a Walter Holke line drive, touched second, and tagged runner coming from first.  It was Padgett’s 4th MLB game of his career.

Did you know… The Phillies have had two players in their history record an unassisted triple play. Mickey Morandini had the 9th triple play in the modern era in 1992, and Eric Bruntlett had the 15th in 2009.  Both triple plays were off the bats of Jeffs (Jeff King 1992, Jeff Francoeur 2009). 

Did you know… Phillies pitcher Jake Thompson had 4 strikeouts in the 2nd inning vs Colorado Rockies on 8/12/16. He was the 1st Phillies pitcher to ever accomplish the feat. Thompson was just in his 6th MLB inning and second MLB game.

Did you know… On April 17th, 1965 LA Dodgers pitcher Don Drysdale had 4 strikeouts against the Phillies in the 2nd inning of a Phillies 3-2 win. It was just the 11th 4 strikeout inning in MLB modern era.

Did you know… On June 21st, 2008 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher Scot Shields had 4 strikeouts against the Phillies in the 8th inning of a 6-2 Phillies loss.  It was the 51st 4 strikeout inning in MLB modern era.

Did you know… The Phillies have hosted 3 All Star games, 1952, 1976, and 1996. The Philadelphia Athletics were the first to host a MLB All Star game in Philly, hosting in 1943.

Did you know… On July 8th, 1952, the Phillies hosted their 1st MLB All Star game. The NL defeated the AL 3-2 in 5 innings. It’s the only MLB All Star game in league history to end early due to rain.

Did you know… The Phillies and the Philadelphia Athletics both hosted a MLB All Star game on July 13th. The A’s in 1943, the Phils in 1976.
