On October 6th, 1923, Boston Braves infielder Ernie Padgett turned an unassisted triple play against the Phillies in the 4th inning of the last game of the 1923 season. It was the 1st triple play ever in the National league, and 4th in modern day MLB history. It was the Philly-born Padgett’s 4th MLB game of his career.
On October 6th, 2010, in his first-ever postseason start, Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay threw a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds in the NLDS. It was just the 2nd postseason no-hitter in MLB history. Halladay became the 1st pitcher in 37 years to throw two no-hitters in same season (May 29th perfect game vs Marlins), and the first ever to throw a no-hitter AND a perfect game in the same season.
