On This Date…

On August 20th, 2001, the Flyers ended the Eric Lindros era in Philly when GM Bob Clarke shipped him off to the New York Rangers for defenseman Kim Johnsson (Barry Ashbee Award in 2002 and 2004), Jan Hlavac and Pavel Brendl.  Lindros requested he be traded to his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs, and Clarke, shipping him to the Big Apple, was considered a final slap in the face.
