On May 17^th, 1979, the Phillies scored 23 runs in a 23-22 win over the Chicago Cubs. Mike Schmidt homered in the top of the 10^th and the Phillies held on to win.  It was the second time the Phillies had scored 23 against the Cubs. On August 25^th, 1922, the Cubs beat the Phillies 26-23 in the highest scoring game in MLB history (49 total runs).
