On January 9th, 2010 in Dallas, Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin participated in his very first NFL playoff contest.  Though the Eagles fell to the Dallas Cowboys 34-14 that day, Maclin became the youngest player in NFL history to score a postseason touchdown when he caught Michael Vick’s 76-yard TD pass.  The pass was also Vick’s longest TD pass of his career.

On January 3rd, 1994 vs San Francisco 49ers, Eagles Byron Evans ran a fumble recovery in for a TD in a 37-34 Eagles victory.

Flyers tough guy Dave Schultz scored the 1st of his two career Flyers hat tricks vs New York Rangers on January 3rd, 1974.  

Philadelphia Bulletin sportswriter Jack Chevalier, in an article printed on January 3rd, 1973 called the Flyers ‘the Mean Machine’, ‘Freddy’s Phillistines’ and the ‘Bullies of Broad Street.’  Pete Cafone wrote the headline ‘Broad Street Bullies Muscle Atlanta’. The nickname stuck!

Merry Christmas from Philly by the Numbers!!!

On Christmas Day 2017 vs Oakland Raiders, Eagles Derek Barnett recovered a fumble and ran 23 yards for his first career TD as time expired.

On Christmas Night, 1960, The Sixers (Nationals) defeated the New York Knicks 162-100 for their largest margin of victory in team history (62pts).

Eagles TE Zach Ertz had a team-record 15 receptions on December 20th, 2014 vs Washington Redskins.

On December 20th, 1967, the Sixers scored a team-record 53 4th-quarter points vs Seattle Supersonics in a 160-122 victory. Their 95 total 2nd-half points was also a team record.
