December 11th, 1977, Flyers defenseman Tom Bladon scored four goals and assisted on four others in an 11-2 romp over the Cleveland Barons. It was the 1st hat trick ever for a Flyers defenseman, and his +10 is the highest single game plus/minus in NHL history.

On December 11th, 1969, vs Toronto Maple Leafs, the Flyers used Kate Smith’s version of God Bless America for the first time. The Flyers won 6-3 and a good luck charm was born.

In week 14 of the 2017 NFL season, Eagles QB Carson Wentz threw an Eagles team-record 33rd TD pass of the season (vs Los Angeles Rams 12/10/17) before leaving the game with a season-ending knee injury.

On December 10th, 1961 vs. New York Giants, Eagles receiver Tommy McDonald had an Eagles team-record 237 receiving yards.

On December 9th, 1982, the Phillies acquired Von Hayes from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for Julio Franco, Manny Trillo, Jay Baller, George Vukovich, and Jerry Willard.  Hayes quickly became known as “5 for 1”.

On December 8th, 1987, vs Boston Bruins, Flyers goaltender Ron Hextall became the 1st NHL goalie to shoot the puck into the opponent’s net.   

On December 8th, 2013 vs. Detroit Lions in a snowy game, Eagles RB LeSean McCoy rushed for a team-record 217 yards.

On December 6th, 2015 the (5-7) Eagles defeated the (10-2) New England Patriots 35-28. During the game, the Eagles scored on a 24-yard Najee Goode TD on a Chris Maragos punt block, a 99-yard Malcolm Jenkins pick six, and an 83-yard punt return TD by Darren Sproles.

Flyer winger Ron Flockhart scored the fastest two goals by one player in team history when he scored two goals 8 seconds apart in an 8-2 win over the St. Louis Blues on December 6th, 1981.

On December 2nd, 1990, Eagles WR Fred Barnett scored a 95-yard TD vs Buffalo Bills. It’s the longest rookie receiving TD in team history.

On December 2nd, 2012, vs Dallas Cowboys, Eagles Damaris Johnson returned a punt 98-yards for a TD. It’s the longest punt return in team history.

On December 2nd, 1991 vs. Houston Oilers on Monday Night Football, Eagles linebacker Seth Joyner had a game for the ages. He had 8 solo tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. He also had a 102-degree temperature.
