On February 14th, 1977 vs. St. Louis Blues, Flyers rookie Al Hill scored 2 goals and assisted on 3 others to record an NHL debut record 5 points.

On This Date…

On February 12th, 1961 the Sixers (Nationals) scored a team-record 48 2nd quarter points in a 148-122 victory over the Detroit Pistons. Their 86 1st half points was also a team record.

On February 12th, 2004, Flyers Jeremy Roenick suffered a devastating jaw injury off a slap shot by New York Ranger defenseman Boris Mironov. The blast shattered JR’s jaw into 19 pieces.

On This Date…

On February 10th, 2018 Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth became the first goalie in NHL history to come into a game in relief during a shootout and win the game.  Brian Elliott went down with an injury in the shootout’s second round.  Neuvirth stood tall against the Arizona Coyotes for 5 rounds and Nolan Patrick scored in the 7th round to seal the 4-3 win.   Neuvy got the win giving up zero goals in zero minutes played.

On February 8th, 2018, Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov scored a 200-foot empty net goal vs Montreal Canadiens.

The Flyers Legion of Doom line, with Eric Lindros, John LeClair, and Mikael Renberg totaled 16 points in a game against the Montreal Canadiens on February 6th, 1997. It was the most points in a single game for a Flyers line in team history.  Three weeks later they did it again against the Ottawa Senators.

On February 4th, 2018, Eagles kicker Jake Elliott kicked the longest FG by a rookie in a Super Bowl when he blasted a 46-yarder vs New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.

On February 4th, 2018 The Eagles defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 to win Super Bowl LII, their first Super Bowl Championship in team history. They were the 20th NFL team to win a Super Bowl.

On January 25th, 1981, the Eagles made their first Super Bowl appearance losing to the Oakland Raiders 27-10 in Super Bowl XV.   

On January 25th, 1981, Eagle tight end Keith Krepfle caught the Eagle’s very first Super Bowl TD, an 8-yard catch from Ron Jaworski in Super Bowl XV.
