On April 7^th, 1956 the Philadelphia Warriors defeated the Fort Wayne Pistons 99-88 in game 5 of the NBA Finals to win the NBA Championship 4 games to 1.

On April 7^th, 2018, during the last game of the season, Flyers captain Claude Giroux had a hat trick against the New York Rangers, giving him 102 points for the season, ending the Flyers longest 100-point player drought in team history (Eric Lindros 115 pts 1995-96).

On April 7^th, 2018, the Phillies defeated the Miami Marlins 20-1 at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies trailed 1-0 before scoring 20 unanswered runs. Outfielder Aaron Altheer and third baseman Maikel Franco each hit a Grand Slam. The Phillies had scored 19 runs in their first 6 games total before scoring 20 in their 7^th game of the season.

On April 6^th, 1968 the Flyers recorded their 1^st playoff win defeating the visiting St. Louis Blues 4-3.     

On April 5^th, 1967, Sixers legend Wilt Chamberlain had a team-record 41 rebounds in a playoff game vs Boston Celtics.

On April 4^th, 1968 the Flyers played their 1^st playoff game in team history, a 1-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

On April 3^rd, 1980, Flyers sniper Reggie Leach became the only Flyer to score his 50^th goal of a season into an open net, doing so vs. Washington Capitals.

On April 1^st, 1970, vs Milwaukee Bucks, Sixers Billy Cunningham became the first Sixer to score 50 points in a post-season game.

Wayne Simmonds was once credited for scoring a goal that deflected off his forehead and into the net off a Brayden Schenn shot on March 30^th, 2012 vs. Ottawa Senators.

Phillies legendary announcer Harry Kalas was born on March 26, 1936 in Naperville, Illinois. He was the Phillies play-by-play announcer from 1971 until his death on April 13^th, 2009.  Kalas was preparing for the Phillies-Nationals game in Washington that evening when he collapsed in the booth. He died shortly thereafter.

The Flyers scored a team-record 13 goals in a 13-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 22^nd, 1984.
