On April 7th, 2018, during the last game of the season, Flyers captain Claude Giroux had a hat trick against the New York Rangers, giving him 102 points for the season, ending the Flyers longest 100-point player drought in team history (Eric Lindros 115 pts 1995-96).

On April 7th, 2018, the Phillies defeated the Miami Marlins 20-1 at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies trailed 1-0 before scoring 20 unanswered runs. Outfielder Aaron Altheer and third baseman Maikel Franco each hit a Grand Slam. The Phillies had scored 19 runs in their first 6 games total before scoring 20 in their 7th game of the season.

On This Date…

Phillies legendary announcer Harry Kalas was born on March 26, 1936 in Naperville, Illinois. He was the Phillies play-by-play announcer from 1971 until his death on April 13th, 2009.  Kalas was preparing for the Phillies-Nationals game in Washington that evening when he collapsed in the booth. He died shortly thereafter.
