On April 14th, 2018, the Sixers scored 18 3-point buckets in a 130-103 game 1 win over the Miami Heat in the 2018 playoffs. The Sixers shattered their previous team record of 11  3-pointers in a playoff game.  Six days later, in game 3 of the series, the Sixers once again hit 18 3-pointers in a 128-108 game 3 win.

On April 14th, 2005, the Sixers scored a team-record 22 points in overtime in a 126-119 victory over the Miami Heat.

On April, 13th, 1985 vs New York Rangers, Flyers Tim Kerr scored the fastest 4 goals in one period in a playoff game (8:16).     

On April 13th, 2012 vs Pittsburgh Penguins, Flyers Claude Giroux scored a team-record 6 points in a playoff game (3g 3a).

Lucky Friday the 13th for Flyers Center Sean “Jason Voorhees” Couturier. On Friday April 13th, 2012 in a playoff game in Pittsburgh, Coots had a hat trick and an assist. Exactly 6 years later, on Friday April 13th, 2018 in a playoff game in Pittsburgh, Coots had 3 assists giving him 7 career playoff points, all coming on Friday the 13ths in Pittsburgh.

Phillies 2009 NLCS game 4 hero Matt Stairs hit the last home run called by Phillies legendary play-by-play announcer Harry Kalas. Stairs hit a game-winning pinch-hit homer in the top of the 9th on April 12th, 2009 in a Phillies 7-5 win over the Colorado Rockies. Harry Kalas passed away the next day.

On April 11th, 2018, in a playoff game vs Pittsburgh Penguins, Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov took a shot from the top of the face-off circle that hit Penguins defenseman Kris Letang in the skate, and broke the puck in half. 

Flyers goalie Ron Hextall became the only NHL goalie to score into the opponent’s net twice when he scored his second career goal against the Washington Capitals on April 11th, 1989 in an 8-5 playoff win.

On April 11th, 2004, Flyers goalie Antero Niittymaki scored an AHL game-winning, empty-net, shorthanded goal for the Phantoms for a 3-2 overtime win over the Hershey Bears.   It’s the only overtime goal by a goalie in North American pro hockey, and came 15 years to the day of Flyers goalie Ron Hextall’s playoff goal.

On April 8th, 2017 the Phillies scored a team-record 12 1st inning runs vs Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies had zero homers in the inning but they did have a triple, three doubles, and nine total hits to go along with 4 walks.
