On March 20^th, 2018, Couturier scored his 100^th NHL goal vs Detroit Red Wings on the power play. The tally also gave him his 1^st 30-goal season.

On March 19^th, 1981, Clarke was hit in the face with a shot off the stick of linemate Reggie Leach. Clarke got stitched up and returned to score his 19^th goal of the season. It was his 1,000^th NHL point. During the same game, winger Tim Kerr scored the 1st of his 20 career hat tricks as the Flyers defeated the Boston Bruins 5-3. 

Flyers Eric Lindros had a team-record 14 shots on goal on March 19^th, 1996. Lindros finished the game with zero goals and two assists in a 4-1 Flyers win over the New York Islanders. 

The Flyers very first penalty-free game was March 18^th, 1979 vs St. Louis Blues. Flyers won 5-3.

On St. Patrick’s Day March 17^th, 1973, in a 120-115 loss to the Baltimore Bullets, the Sixers lost their 68th game of the season, setting an NBA record for losses in a season. The Sixers would finish with an all-time worst 9-73 record. 

Phillies hurler Aaron Nola was born on this date in 1993, 141 days before the team he would eventually pitch for fell to the Toronto Blue Jays in game 6 of the 1993 World Series.

Sixers great Billy Cunningham was born on this date in 1943.  Cunningham won an NBA Championship with the Sixers as both a player and a coach.  As a coach, Cunningham owns the 2nd highest winning pct in Sixers franchise history (.698).  Alex Hannum, his coach for the Sixers 1967 NBA Championship is top with (.798).

On June 3^rd, 1993, Flyers Eric Desjardins (then with Montreal Canadiens) became the 1^st NHL defenseman to score a hat trick in the Stanley Cup Finals.

On June 2^nd, 2002, Phillies pitcher Robert Person hit a Grand Slam in the 1^st inning and a 3-run homer in the 5^th inning of an 18-3 Phillies home win over the Montreal Expos. Person nearly had a second Grand Slam but the ball was just foul. Person had two homers and 7 RBIs for the day and recorded his 1^st win of the season. Those two homers were his only two hits of the season, and his last two hits with the Phillies.  

On June 1^st, 1986, the Phillies defeated the San Diego Padres 16-5 at the Vet. Steve Carlton gave up 5 earned runs in 6 innings, but picked up the win.  It was his 241^st win for the Phillies (plus 6 in the postseason), and it would be his last in Phillies pinstripes. Carlton would win another 11 games over the next season and a half with four different stops along the way before ending his Hall of Fame career with 329 wins.  

On May 31^st, 1987 the Flyers fell to the Edmonton Oilers 3-1 in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Rookie goalie Ron Hextall was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP of the playoffs. It was the 4^th time a Flyer was awarded the trophy, and 2^nd time in a losing cause. It was also the 2nd time in 3 seasons that the Flyers lost to the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Finals.
