On March 19th, 1981, Clarke was hit in the face with a shot off the stick of linemate Reggie Leach. Clarke got stitched up and returned to score his 19th goal of the season. It was his 1,000th NHL point. During the same game, winger Tim Kerr scored the 1st of his 20 career hat tricks as the Flyers defeated the Boston Bruins 5-3.
Flyers Eric Lindros had a team-record 14 shots on goal on March 19th, 1996. Lindros finished the game with zero goals and two assists in a 4-1 Flyers win over the New York Islanders.

On June 2nd, 2002, Phillies pitcher Robert Person hit a Grand Slam in the 1st inning and a 3-run homer in the 5th inning of an 18-3 Phillies home win over the Montreal Expos. Person nearly had a second Grand Slam but the ball was just foul. Person had two homers and 7 RBIs for the day and recorded his 1st win of the season. Those two homers were his only two hits of the season, and his last two hits with the Phillies.

On June 1st, 1986, the Phillies defeated the San Diego Padres 16-5 at the Vet. Steve Carlton gave up 5 earned runs in 6 innings, but picked up the win. It was his 241st win for the Phillies (plus 6 in the postseason), and it would be his last in Phillies pinstripes. Carlton would win another 11 games over the next season and a half with four different stops along the way before ending his Hall of Fame career with 329 wins.

On May 31st, 1987 the Flyers fell to the Edmonton Oilers 3-1 in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Rookie goalie Ron Hextall was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP of the playoffs. It was the 4th time a Flyer was awarded the trophy, and 2nd time in a losing cause. It was also the 2nd time in 3 seasons that the Flyers lost to the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Finals.
