Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels hit his 1st career home run on July 21st, 2012 off Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants. Oddly enough, when Cain hit a homer off Hamels in the top of the same inning, it was the first homer Hamels had given up to an opposing pitcher. It’s also the only time for either club that starting pitchers hit homers off each other in the same inning.
