On August 25th, 1921, the Phillies played the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1st-ever radio broadcasted MLB game.
On May 24th, 1935, the Phillies played the Cincinnati Reds in Cincy in the 1st-ever night game in MLB history.
On October 22nd, 1939, the Eagles played the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1st-ever televised football game. The game, broadcasted by NBC, was played at Ebbetts Field in Brooklyn. The dodgers won 23-14.
The Eagles also participated in the first-ever televised NFL Championship game, defeating the Chicago Cardinals 7-0 on December 19th, 1948, in blizzard-like conditions.
In 1936, the Eagles made the first selection in the 1st-ever NFL Draft, selecting Jay Berwanger from the University of Chicago. Berwanger went to med school instead of signing.
