On This Date

On this date… The Phillies lose their 10,000th game, the most losses in professional sports, on July 15th, 2007.  The Phillies were defeated by the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 10-2 before a Citizen’s Bank Park crowd of 44,872 and a National TV audience.  Adam Eaton took the loss. During the game, Phillies CF Michael Bourn hit his 1st and only HR as a member of the Phillies.          Winning a World Series 15 months later helped soften the blow.
