Flyers tough guy Dave Schultz scored the 2nd of his two career Flyers hat tricks exactly one week after scoring his 1st.  He notched his 2nd hat trick on January 10^th, 1974 vs Minnesota North Stars.

On January 9^th, 2010 in Dallas, Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin participated in his very first NFL playoff contest.  Though the Eagles fell to the Dallas Cowboys 34-14 that day, Maclin became the youngest player in NFL history to score a postseason touchdown when he caught Michael Vick’s 76-yard TD pass.  The pass was also Vick’s longest TD pass of his career.

On January 3^rd, 1994 vs San Francisco 49ers, Eagles Byron Evans ran a fumble recovery in for a TD in a 37-34 Eagles victory.

Philadelphia Bulletin sportswriter Jack Chevalier, in an article printed on January 3^rd, 1973 called the Flyers ‘the Mean Machine’, ‘Freddy’s Phillistines’ and the ‘Bullies of Broad Street.’  Pete Cafone wrote the headline ‘Broad Street Bullies Muscle Atlanta’. The nickname stuck!

On December 17^th, 2006, Eagles Trent Cole nabbed the only INT of his Eagles career, a pick six vs New York Giants.

On December 16^th, 1967 Sixers legend Wilt Chamberlain scored a team-record 30 FGs in a 143-123 victory over the Chicago Bulls. His game-high 68 points is also a team record.
